Monte Carlo Inn Vaughan Suites

The breakfast was a letdown, with few options, poor quality, and little attention to freshness. The staff also didn't come across as pleasant or welcoming, which made the stay less enjoyable. My room at Monte Carlo Inn felt dated and wasn't as clean or comfortable as I'd expected. For the price, I hoped for a higher standard overall. I expected more and wouldn't be in a hurry to return.

It was handy to stay near the wedding venue I was attending, and free parking plus breakfast from 7 to 11 a.m. were convenient. The room was a decent size and clean, the shower had strong, steady pressure and temperature, and it was quiet at night. Heating and A/C both worked well. Sleep wasn't great, though. The curtain wouldn't close all the way, so morning light came in early, and my room was beside the stairs where other guests made noise. The room's air quality could also be better. Breakfast was very basic: eggs weren't included, despite the website mentioning hard-boiled eggs that weren't available, and had to be bought separately. A decent, well located stay if light and noise don't bother you too much.

We stayed after getting back from a trip and wanted to get away from the airport, with easy highway access for our northbound drive in the morning. The location was excellent for that. The rooms were clean and the hotel was nice. The carpets are starting to look a little dated, but everything else was really good. I'd stay here again in the same situation.

The staff have been incredibly kind and helpful when I've needed a hotel because surgeries were delayed. Paul and Melissa on the day shift were especially understanding and accommodating. They even helped me find the best price online. A lot of places try to charge more when they can tell someone is already dealing with a crisis and needs a break, but they gave me the best rate they could, even lower than what I found. A young man on the night shift also brought me an extra fuzzy blanket twice, both times in what felt like seconds. I expected to wait a bit in a large hotel, but he was so quick. The cleaning staff were kind and hardworking too, and the customer service when issues came up was very good. The restaurant needs better food choices, especially for the area it's in. Most of the menu seems to be shellfish, and I'm allergic, so I feel too nervous to eat there. The hotel could also use better soundproofing. Still, the staff, especially those three employees and the cleaning team, made a real difference.
