Bedford Regency Hotel, Trademark Collection by Wyndham

We spent a week at the Beford Regency and would happily stay again on our next visit to Victoria. Luwimina at the front desk, the room cleaners, and the rest of the staff were all courteous and helpful. The hotel is very centrally located, with everything close by and easy to reach on foot. Our spacious room faced an interior courtyard, and the windows opened for fresh air. It stayed quiet despite nearby bars. There was a queen bed, a separate bathroom with a tub and shower, and a living room with a sink, unused 2-burner hot plate, desk, fireplace, and chair. Wifi was good. We used nearby city parkades and lots rather than the hotel's parking at Bay Centre.

As someone who lives on the island and often comes to Victoria for the nightlife, I can't beat the Bedford Regency's location. Step outside and you're right in the heart of downtown. It's budget friendly compared with many other city hotels. It isn't as modern as some, but it's a cozy place to sleep after a night out. We always recommend the superior rooms, most of which have wood burning fireplaces and a large jacuzzi tub.

The staff were very nice and accommodating, the view was great, the bed was really comfortable, and having a wood fire in a downtown Victoria hotel room was AMAZING. It was a really nice room in a great location, and I'd recommend the hotel to friends and family. A couple of things kept it from being a 5. The kitchenette had no dishes or cutlery. I also struggled with the shower faucet, taking forever to get the water warm enough and to make it come out of the shower head. Maybe I was just too old or dumb to work it out. I'm not a fan of rainfall showerheads because the water seems to drop straight down instead of toward you. Change the showers, add some dishes and cutlery, and it's a 5.

If you're planning to leave your luggage, explore town all day, then come back to sleep, this is the place. We loved being close to everything and only needed an Uber once, to go to the gardens. It's clean, reasonably priced, and the owners and hosts are extremely nice and willing to help however they can. The rooms aren't grand and it is a little noisy. They tell you about the noise when you book. If you're after an amazing room, look elsewhere.
