For a last minute weekend booking at 100 a night, and with a great location, I was satisfied. I was only there to sleep and didn’t spend much time in the hotel. The building has seen better days, with thin walls and very dated decor, but even though the room looked old, it was impressively clean and the bed was comfortable.

The location worked well for heading straight to the ferry terminal, and the pet friendly rooms are why I gave it 2 stars. That’s about all I liked. I called ahead about parking for our Uhaul and trailer and was told it wouldn’t be a problem, but there was no space when we arrived. We had to circle around with a 51 foot unit and ended up squeezed against the restaurant by the driveway. Pet friendly rooms couldn’t be booked online, and we had to pay an extra $30 a night above the posted rate, plus a $300 deposit that’s supposed to be returned. The room wasn’t worth $300. There was a hole in the ceiling, and the shower was awful. At check-in I was told it didn’t drain well. That turned out not to matter because there was no way we were using it. My boyfriend spent 15 years working in an underground coal mine and still wouldn’t use that shower. After 12 hours of driving, it was the one thing he wanted more than sleep. The security latch was broken, leaving only the installed door lock and no extra way to secure the room. It was nice to have a ground floor room, but we won’t stay here again.

We slept from 9pm until 8am after visiting capilano suspension bridge and didn’t hear a person all night. The room was spotless, the beds were comfortable and medium firm, and the staff were accommodating and great with families. It’s an older building, sure, but for the price it was perfect. I’m not sure why it gets low ratings. We’ll definitely recommend it to friends and family.

The bed was so hard and noisy that I didn’t sleep at all. I don’t mean firm, just hard. After a long day of travel, I only needed a soft bed for a few hours before the morning ferry. The heater was very old, most of its markings had rubbed off, and I froze all night. The blanket was so thin I folded it in half and used the bathroom towels too. I gave up at 5 am and checked out. When I told the desk attendant, he just chuckled and mumbled something. They had my money and didn’t care. There are plenty of other hotels nearby. Don’t choose this one.

The location is handy, with easy highway access and a Vietnamese restaurant and Denny's right next door. The woman at the front desk was helpful, and it’s otherwise a quiet area. The hotel itself has seen better days, with old, dated rooms and gaps under the entrance doors. There are two condos being built on either side, and the work is loud from 7 AM to 5 PM.
