Pan Pacific Whistler Mountainside

The climate controlled lockers gave our ski and snowboard gear a chance to dry overnight. I stayed for five days and found the staff incredibly professional and courteous. Right at the base of Whistler mountain, the hotel is ideally placed if you want to be as close as possible to a chairlift or gondola. The mountainside view is amazing, though the hotel is close enough to the hill that you can’t see all of it. I’d absolutely recommend staying here for the welcoming service and easy access to the hill.

I won’t stay here again, even though the rooms are decent and the slopes are close. The noise is incredibly intrusive. It’s supposedly quiet from 10pm to 8am, but this morning the liftees started playing music at 5:40am. From mid-morning until 10pm, a DJ plays so loudly I couldn’t even watch TV in a mountain view room. The hotel let us move to a room facing away from the slopes, but I could still hear the DJ there, especially with the window open even a crack. Save money and stay a building or two back from the lifts.

The eucalyptus steam room was our favourite amenity, and we loved coming back to the hotel after long walks around town. My mum and I had a magical, memorable trip at Pan Pacific Mountainside, and we’d stay again in a heartbeat. On the drive over, a road closure on the Sea-to-Sky highway made things stressful, and we had limited service. We called the hotel for updates, and an hour later they called back to say the road was opening and that they were waiting to welcome us. Soon the cars ahead of us started moving. Once we arrived, we found a cozy, tastefully decorated lobby and very friendly staff, who generously upgraded us from a studio suite to a one-bedroom suite. That gesture made the start of our mini vacation extra special. The suite was clean and inviting, with a fireplace, a little balcony with mountain views, a good-sized bathroom, and a well-stocked, fully fitted kitchen that we used a lot. The bed was extremely comfortable, too. The hotel is central to all the fun businesses, and it was a pleasure to come home to after wandering around town.

This was my second winter visit, and if I come back to Whistler I’ll definitely stay here again. The Pan Pacific Mountainside, one of the two Pan Pacific's, has what I think is the best access to the lifts, views, village shops, bars, and restaurants. We had a mountain view room with a kitchen, separate lounge, and bedroom, a great setup for a longer stay.
