The art around the resort was incredible, and the restaurant was amazing. I also liked the outdoor deck and pool, plus the little gift shop. The casino attached to the resort is easily one of the best in the province. My room was peaceful, with floor-to-ceiling windows looking out over the yard and golf course, and I slept better than I do at home. It was comfortable and relaxing. Can't wait for the Nordic spa. A great place to stop for rest, fun, and relaxation.

The pool area could use a clock, and the TV had no sports channels. There was also no hallway vacuuming during our stay. Our room was a long way from the elevator and right beside the air conditioners, which seemed like a poor choice for two senior ladies. The outside air conditioners and fans were loud, and the coffee area was very dim. Rooms are expensive but didn't feel like a four- or five-star stay: there was no desk, notepad, pen, or Bible in the nightstand. Staff seemed very uninformed about gift certificates, and it took a long time to get gift cards for the hotel and Moosehead dining room. Customer service was lacking. I feel we were overcharged for what we got.

The restaurant lounge had an awkward seating layout, and the food was mediocre for such high prices. Service wasn't very good either. Back in my room, the bed wasn't comfortable, and I could hear drunk people in the hallway in the middle of the night. The ice machine directly across from my room was extremely loud and audible inside. I wasn't impressed with the resort.

The golf course view was pleasant, and the room was spacious. It was a nice spot for a staycation, with outdoor activities that added to the visit, and it met expectations without being anything extraordinary. Still, the staff came across as unfriendly and a bit robotic. I noticed dust on several room surfaces, too. With the expensive nightly rate at a destination resort, I expected friendlier hospitality and more attention to cleanliness. A pleasant enough quick escape outside the city.

The food was probably my favorite part of having my wedding here in August, it was absolutely amazing. The venue space was beautiful, and the hotel was clean with very nice rooms. The pool had a lovely view and a calming feel, too. Staff were professional through the planning and the whole experience, which was pretty straightforward and organized. There was a small check-in issue, but they sorted it out quickly and made sure we were accommodated throughout. I'd recommend Dakota dunes for weddings, parties, or events. Being able to visit the casino anytime was a bonus, and I'm looking forward to going back this year to enjoy the new spa.
