Hotel du Nord

The calm, quiet atmosphere made it easy to unwind after a day out exploring. I loved waking up to the incredible Alps view right outside my window. It's the kind of sight that makes you stop and take it all in. Staying at Hotel du Nord was wonderful.

The staff were efficient and courteous, and the breakfast option was well worth it, with good quality and plenty of choice. This is a really nice modern hotel with a traditional feel, first-class facilities, and extremely comfortable, well-laid-out rooms. It's right in the center of Aigle, a lovely town, and only a five-minute walk from the station.

It was a great base for exploring the area, and the stay felt very comfortable. The room was quiet despite facing the street. We also loved the heated bathroom floor, though the shower felt a little cramped even for two small people.

I like having some personal contact at a hotel because it helps me feel welcome, and that was missing here. We found the door shut when we arrived, rang the bell, and were given instructions for getting in and locating our room. We didn't see staff again before leaving, though someone was sitting at reception. They weren't very kind, especially if you had a question or a problem. The hotel itself was okay.
