Hotel Restaurant Rössli

Breakfast and dinner were both fresh and really tasty, and everyone made us feel welcome. We had a wonderful time here and would happily recommend the hotel.

The wine list looks impressive, so I’m looking forward to coming back and trying more of it. My wife had happy memories of this place from childhood, and after tonight’s post-renovation visit, I have to say congratulations. The asparagus salad and bauerteller were perfect, and my Angus entrecot came out at exactly the temperature I wanted, nicely seasoned. Lenka took wonderful care of us, always friendly, attentive, and professional.

We left feeling robbed, even though we paid everything the owner asked for. When I questioned the water bill, he became aggressive and very rude, refused to explain the charges for what we had understood to be tap water, and also demanded payment for four people who didn’t come. We had called ahead to reduce our booking because some guests couldn’t make it, after originally planning for 16. He called those four a “no show.” There were 12 of us at dinner. We asked the waiter whether tap water was available and were told yes, then opened bottles were brought to the table. No one opened a bottle in front of us or told us there would be a charge. More bottles kept arriving during dinner, and at the bill we were charged 9CHF each, with over 50CHF in water costs. Staff had said tap water was fine, kept bringing bottles, and only disclosed the price at billing. A simple question shouldn’t lead to being treated aggressively. Avoid this restaurant and enjoy Switzerland!

We had a lovely family holiday here. The rooms were comfortable and clean, the food was tasty, and the staff were friendly. The location worked well for us too. Thank you!
