That corner room made this one of my favorite stops on the whole trip. After 25 days on the road, with six more days of cycling ahead, I really appreciated the balcony and those lovely mountain and lake views. We could stroll down to the water and wander back through town. The room was so pleasant that we ended up eating there. It was my first time at a smart hotel with no one at a reception desk, where you check yourself in. Breakfast was about a seven out of ten. If I come this way again, I’d stay here and ask for a corner room.

The room had a lake view and was spacious and quiet, but it was extremely cold, with no heat at all. I’ve never stayed at a hotel in Switzerland without heat in the room. The beds were twins, and there was no staff at check-in, though checking in was easy. Breakfast was okay, but the staff weren’t very nice and the coffee was cold too. I wouldn’t come back in winter. This is a very cold country.

The sauna closes at 10 pm, which would have been useful to know ahead of time. Rooms are clean and practical, though there’s no fridge or kettle. There isn’t a proper reception either, just a self-check-in counter and a phone number.

We booked a room that included wellness facilities, but the wellness area wasn’t working. The sauna and the rest weren’t heated. With self check-in, there was nobody there to answer questions, only a phone number. It took 15 to 20 minutes to get an answer, and the people on the line were very rude.
