Hotel Alpensonne

The location is really convenient for the ski and bus stations, and there are some nice bars nearby for après-ski. Staff throughout the hotel and restaurant were friendly. Robert at the front desk was especially kind and helpful. The restaurant is very nice too. This hotel deserves five stars.

Maybe we just had bad luck going on January 1, who knows. But our dinner with a group of eight was a mess from the start. We waited 20 minutes at the bar without anyone coming over, and it was nearly out of drinks, including whiskey and Pernod. We settled for Aperol Spritz, then waited another 20 minutes at the table before anyone took our order. One starter came out wrong, leaving that person waiting another 20 minutes to eat. The mains took much longer, and one steak was missing. Everyone had finished by the time it showed up, so it had already been cancelled. Still, the older server brought it out and kept trying to get me or someone else to take it, saying it was a shame to waste it and there was nothing she could do. It was 10:30 at night, and they had made the mistake. Trying to make guests feel bad about not eating the late steak was out of line. There was no atmosphere to make us feel comfortable, either. I'm in Arosa very often, but after that experience and attitude, I won't return to this hotel or restaurant. Management needs to step up if they want the place to work in Arosa. Good luck.

The old Alpine wooden villa feel of the hotel was lovely, and we loved staying here. Breakfast and dinner were great, with good Swiss food and wine. The staff were nice, and the slopes are close. When there's enough snow, you can ski right to the hotel.

The rooms were spotless and renovated, with a stunning view. Staff were kind and professional, and the location makes it a very good place to stay for skiing. I'd definitely recommend this hotel.
