Hotel Eden Roc

The grounds feel like a quiet sanctuary, with lush plants, a private lakeshore, pools, and a calm wellness area. The daily sauna infusions and peaceful rhythm of the relaxation spaces were lovely. Families and dogs are welcome, yet the atmosphere still feels composed and respectful. The promenade is right outside, and the world feels close while the hotel itself feels far away from it all. Our suite had been elegantly renovated, with refined materials, thoughtful details, and a panoramic lake view. Morning light danced on the water, and the space made it easy to relax. The long, difficult journey faded away when Nicole and Margaretha welcomed us so warmly. Roberto and Janis, the concierges, were attentive in a way that felt natural, with no detail missed. Marta at the front desk was professional and warm, and Andrea at the Marina Restaurant stood out for his precision and sensitivity. Rosa, Vanessa, and Anna brought grace and genuine warmth to the Eden Roc restaurant, while Elisabeth and Giacomo kept the same high standard flowing through every restaurant. Markus Tauss’s leadership shows in a team that works with harmony, pride, and purpose. We extended our stay on the second day. The food was another highlight. La Breeze has 2 Michelin stars and 19 GaultMillau points, but the dishes went beyond the awards, with textures, aromas, and precision that felt like a clear culinary philosophy with soul. That quality carried across every hotel restaurant. Easter brunch at the Eden roc restaurant was full of detail, generosity, and beauty. At the Marina bar, piano music accompanied the soft evening light and understated clientele. Bootshaus and Marina served delicious catch of the day. Each setting had its own quiet elegance and stunning lake views. There’s style without excess, precision without rigidity, and luxury without distance. Eden Roc Ascona is more than a hotel, it’s a feeling that stays with you. For us, it’s a place to return to.

The gym is seriously under-equipped. It needs at least a power rack, and right now there isn’t even a pull-up bar.

This might be my new favorite hotel anywhere. Just walking in feels magical. A driveway lined with lemon trees leads to a beautifully designed lobby, with the lake visible beyond the lovely stone terrace. Jasmine trees all over the property scent the lawns and terraces. The rooms are snug but thoughtfully designed. Like much of Europe, the air conditioning could be better. Closing the storm blinds during the day helped a lot. There are three pools, plus steps leading straight into the lake. Breakfast was divine, with the service and execution just right. Every restaurant served dishes prepared with care, including tender fish caught from the lake that day, seasonal vegetables, and local herbs. The staff were kind and helpful at every turn. I can’t wait to come back.

The breakfast alone was one of the best we’ve ever had, with endless choices, quality ingredients, and a view that made us want to linger. We also loved how easily we could walk into Ascona, with its lakeside restaurants, shops, and beautiful walks. It felt like part of the Eden Roc experience. My wife and I spent three unforgettable days at the Eden Roc in Ascona for our babymoon, and it exceeded every expectation. The staff were warm, professional, and always seemed a step ahead in making us feel cared for. The property was spotless and beautifully kept, right on Lake Maggiore with breathtaking views. Our room was kept in perfect shape, with thoughtful touches that made us feel pampered. The spa was world-class, and the pools and private beach were pristine. It felt like a real retreat, and one of the best hotels we’ve stayed at. We can’t wait to return.
