Hotel la Meridiana, Lake & SPA

The breakfast runs from 8 to 11 and has plenty to choose from, including eggs, bacon, cold cuts, cheeses, and really good bread. It was substantial enough to carry me through until apero, or even dinner. The breakfast team were especially kind and gave five-star service. Everyone else I dealt with was helpful too. My room was ready when I arrived, which was nice after doing the online check-in. It had a small lake-facing balcony, a comfortable bed, and a bath. I also had the heated indoor pool and gym to myself each morning. The hotel is right on Lake Maggiore, close to restaurants and shops, and only a short walk from the B1 bus stop. I’m looking forward to coming back to the Meridiana at the end of the month for the jazz fest. Thanks, team Meridiana!

Sonja at reception was friendly and cooperative, which I appreciated. The hotel sits right on the promenade, and my small balcony looked out over the lake and the front walk. Still, for the price, I thought it was overrated as a four-star hotel. The room amenities and breakfast menu were both basic, and there was no iron or ironing board. Getting luggage inside was also a hassle: the entrance is 10-15 steps up, or you can take a steep, rough path.

We made good use of the spa, with its pool, sauna, massage table, and fitness room. Being right across from the lake, with restaurants, the boat stop, and a playground nearby, made our short break especially enjoyable. We’d come again.

The rooms are fine rather than luxurious, though the bed was great. Breakfast was okay, and parking was convenient. The location is hard to beat, right in the main pedestrian area, and the staff were genuinely friendly and helpful.
