The terrace was nice, and the toilets were fairly clean. But when we arrived, the older waitress with short hair and glasses just stared at us. She didn't say hello or offer a drinks menu. When we asked about draft beer, she couldn't tell us all the different kinds they had. I wouldn't go back.

The receptionists were so kind and helpful, and this is the best hotel I've stayed at in Switzerland! I'd definitely recommend it for a trip to Zermatt or a ski holiday.

Check-in and check-out were easy since everything is automated. The place itself is cozy, tucked into the hills, and gives you great access to Zermatt. The shower doesn't offer much privacy, though, so sharing a room with strangers may not suit you.

I drove up especially because it had reopened, but after waiting 20 minutes at the regulars' table on the terrace, I left. The guy behind the window only seemed focused on the women who wanted to eat, even though they'd also come in from the terrace. He never once looked out the window. The service should also keep an eye out for regulars who just want a drink. I hope things change. It'd be a shame if the place closed again. 😒
