I've never seen a worse hotel. It's all very old and dirty, including the beds and bathroom. The TV and refrigerator don't work, the Wi-Fi is extremely slow, and breakfast is poor and awful. The management is from Bulgaria and awful. Don't choose this hotel if you're hoping for a nice stay in the richest country in Europe. This was my worst experience in Switzerland.
I was there in Feb 2019 and was very happy with the stay. The location was great and the room clean. Amenities were very basic, but I wasn't after luxury. I'd happily return. If you're a light sleeper, request a north facing room, since the in-house club can get a bit loud.
It's a cheap hotel with “character,” but run down and not properly maintained or updated in at least 25 years. Things are just about okay. The disco/club in the basement starts playing music at 11pm, yet there's no mention of it. It made the old doors and windows on the 3rd floor rattle and the walls vibrate. All a bit unreal, and because of the noise, I wouldn't recommend it for families.
We booked at short notice and the staff were really helpful. The place is basic but clean, with a great location and stunning views. The local restaurant was lovely, and its staff very friendly and helpful. I'd recommend it and come back.
