Hotel Wettstein

There’s no AC, so I’m not sure what it would be like in summer, but in early December the temperature was just right. I didn’t need the heater and used the room fan on a few nights. My room was decent and very clean, and the free minibar was restocked every day. The hotel is well kept, and the staff are always smiling and welcoming. Room service is available, and there’s a nice free selection of tea and coffee throughout the day. The glass room overlooking the garden is amazing. They also provide a free Basel public transport pass, and the bus and tram stops are just a minute away. Highly recommend.

The breakfast was great, with fresh choices including different breads, cheeses, jams, fruit, and freshly squeezed orange juice. I also really appreciated the complimentary coffees and teas, with a range of good-quality organic options available to guests all the time. It’s a very nice hotel, with cosy, friendly, clean rooms and welcoming receptionists. I made a mistake with my reservation, but they were very helpful in finding a solution.

A free public transport card for the whole stay was a lovely extra, and the Wi-Fi kept me connected. The rooms were comfortable, clean, and nice. The facilities, amenities, and staff were all very good, and it’s a great location to start exploring the city. I only had a quick breakfast, but the pastries and bread were fresh.

The free minbar, and coffee and fruit at reception were a nice surprise, even though I hadn’t booked breakfast. Bus and tram travel was included for the stay too. Most tourist attractions are within walking distance, as is Messe Basel, where I had business to attend to. I loved staying here. The staff were very nice, and my room was comfortable, clean, and quiet. I slept with the window open; it was cold outside at night but warm in the room. I’ll come again. Thanks!
