We tried breakfast here today, and that will be our last time. My husband ordered scrambled eggs and French toast. The eggs seemed to come from a prepared mixture rather than fresh eggs, had a strange texture with water underneath, and left an odd aftertaste. The brioche French toast looked promising but tasted terrible, among the worst I’ve tried. It didn’t seem to have vanilla or sugar to improve it. I had salmon avocado bread and sunny-side-up eggs with Rösti. The avocado bread was plain and lacked the chef’s touch. One egg was completely ruined with a fully cooked yolk, while the other was only partly cooked and had a transparent, jelly-like white. The Rösti was far too salty and peppery, crunchy only at the edges and undercooked in the middle. It was a very sad meal.

This is about one waiter, not the hotel or restaurant as a whole. My girlfriend and I arrived on July 13th 2025 between 15:30 and 16:15h. The staff welcomed us and said we could sit wherever we liked. The restaurant was somewhat busy, but there were plenty of empty tables and nobody queuing outside. We’d arrived by motorcycle with our helmets and jackets in hand, so we chose a table for four. We weren’t trying to be rude or take advantage; we just wanted to sit comfortably when there were lots of free tables. The waiter with the Robbie Williams tattoo on his arm came over, greeted us, then started separating the two tables and told us, “two people seat on a table for two.” He added in a very sharp tone, “remove your things, if you would be so kind. It is Sunday if you noticed, and there will be a lot of people coming.” He didn’t apologize for not letting us leave our things, take our order, or say anything else before walking off. I’m flexible, and if I’d seen a big crowd arriving, I’d have gladly given up some comfort so others could sit down. But I think someone should ask politely instead of assuming, especially in a sarcastic tone when that crowd never actually appeared. He created and solved a problem before it existed. I felt he didn’t care whether I was comfortable or enjoyed being there. Maybe he didn’t mean it that way, but I can’t know. I felt unwelcome and disrespected, so I found another place, sat at a table for four, and enjoyed the rest of the afternoon. I wish the Robbie Williams fan well, and hope he finds a bit more care for his work. It’s simple to be nice.

We chose the restaurant for a romantic dinner, and the table setting was nice, though the table felt a bit small for all the bottles, glasses, and plates. The seabass with spinach was good. The beef filet, though, was an absolute catastrophe: tough and inedible. Avoid it, or you’ll waste 60 Francs on a bit of vegetables.

The staff made us feel welcome, and we enjoyed both dinner and breakfast. Our room was spacious and looked out over the lake. It was a lovely stay in a magnificent location.

In winter, breakfast by the fireplace with the lake right there is an amazing combination. The staff were very friendly and attentive, and the food portions are small but presented really nicely. I also loved the interior design.
