After a day riding my motorcycle, I called and ended up at Hotel Bellwald with the Bellwald family. The view was magnificent, with the last sunlight shining brightly as I unpacked. The reception was nicely decorated, and there was a cup of delicious coffee waiting. My room was large, which isn't always the case for a solo biker, and the spacious terrace looked out toward the Eggishorn and its neighboring peaks. It was very clean, with a walk-in shower, and stayed pleasantly cool after a hot 31°C day. Mrs. Margrit greeted me with a friendly handshake and explained dinner at the restaurant, plus where and when to have breakfast. Dinner was wonderful, especially the herb-crusted rack of lamb. After a nice breakfast, I was back on the road looking for asphalt, curves and more breathtaking views.

My hotel let me down, so I called this place at the last minute on 9 November. It was the owner's final night open before closing for ski season, but she was fantastic and went out of her way to help. She put us in the room opposite reception, which was absolutely stunning, with amazing views. We had a superb meal next door as well. What a last-minute find! Thank you for the help and hospitality. I'll definitely book a longer stay next year.

The patient, helpful service really stood out. They took plenty of time to print a schedule for our trip and advise us on using public transport. The family-run hotel was clean, quiet and nicely managed, with beautiful views. Breakfast was good, and the restaurant next door served tasty dinners that were nicely plated. Do check out the dessert menu. I'd recommend it if you're unfamiliar with the area.

The patio or balcony has an excellent view, and the hotel is well managed, with good food, cleanliness and service. Oberwallis is a very quiet, relaxing place to stay.
