Ferienhotel Bodensee

The rooms are a little tight for two wheelchair users, but the generous terraces outside them and the lovely south-facing garden are a real plus. It’s a modern, attractive hotel with excellent facilities and genuinely friendly staff. I’d recommend it for a Lake Constance holiday with wheelchair users.

We felt welcome and understood from the start, and the staff made a big difference. Every employee we met was warm, friendly, and very accommodating, with an open, respectful attitude toward our needs. The hotel is also exceptionally well set up for guests with disabilities. Its accessible facilities and thoughtful organization made our few days there easy and pleasant for everyone. We’d be happy to return.

The room is the one real limitation: it’s too narrow to transfer an electric wheelchair while using a lift. Elsewhere, the hotel is spacious, with automatic doors and a large bathroom with grab bars. There’s a pleasant shared balcony, plus a lovely garden with pergolas, bocce, chess, and a fire pit. Breakfast is plentiful, the food is very good, and the staff are helpful.

The only thing we were missing was a small fridge for medication that needed to stay cold. We knew there wasn’t one, so we brought an electric cooler. Even so, we had a perfect holiday and would love to come back. We spent five nights here and felt at home straight away. With our severely disabled son, the hospital beds and accessible shower made the stay especially easy. Everything was clean and modern, the staff were lovely and gave us useful excursion tips, and breakfast was delicious. The hotel is beautifully located and makes a great base for trips around Lake Constance.
