Los Lorentes Apartments Bern City

The room had plenty of space and was very clean. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed, from pots and pans to a kettle, stove, microwave, and scissors. I was surprised that the cleaning staff also washed our dishes and cleaned the room. It was easy to connect a device to the TV. We arrived at 11am and the staff let us check in early. The Bern transport card was easy to activate, and the buses came very frequently. The centre is only ten minutes away by bus. The fire alarm went off at night and we had to evacuate, which was the one downside. There was also a random door in the room leading to the neighbours' room. It was locked, and you'd need a key card to get through.

The room was satisfactory, but getting checked in at 11pm was a real hassle. There was no staff on site, and I hadn't received check-in information or a way to ask basic questions. When I called, the person spoke French, so I asked, “Hello, English?” He hung up and blocked my number. I was calling from an Indian number, so maybe it was racism. If the hotel has no check-in staff or anyone on site, they should at least answer calls properly.

The room was comfortable and spacious, with a microwave and kettle provided. The hotel is about ten minutes by bus from Bern Hb, and there's an Aldi supermarket right in front.

The staff were kind and quickly brought extra pillows when I asked. The apartment-style hotel was pleasant and neatly kept, with self check-in, and the room was clean and well presented. But it had a lingering smell, probably from the kitchenette and cooking facilities. Being next to the elevator was another problem: every time it ran, the noise was deafening and really disturbing.
