There’s a book in the room about the hotel’s fascinating history, which history fans will enjoy. The whole place smelled lovely, from reception through to the room, and that made the stay even nicer. The PostBus stop right outside is handy for setting off on hikes. Staff were incredibly friendly, and both breakfast and dinner at the hotel restaurant were excellent.

The food was absolutely delicious, and the wine list has a wide choice of local bottles. I was impressed by the care in all the little details, even though the restaurant room itself isn’t anything special. I stayed one night at the nest hotel. The room was simply but very nicely decorated, with a huge shower and bathroom. They’ve done a very good job renovating the building while keeping its charm. I’ll come back!

The food Chef Laurent served in the restaurant was extremely good, and there was a nice selection of local wines too. Esther welcomed us so warmly. We really enjoyed our stay at this wonderful family-run hotel. Highly recommended!

That 15 Point Gourmet Swiss rating says a lot about this wonderful place. The food was on another level, and the Chef’s philosophy, from the French guy, is all about fraicheur, meaning fresh, local products. The atmosphere and the area are fantastic. The hotel is more than 150 years old. It’s just something else!

I only went for dinner, so I can’t say anything about the accommodations. The food and service were excellent, and the location is in one of Switzerland’s most beautiful valleys, maybe anywhere. I took one star off because of my North American bias about the price, though honestly, it’s in line with fine restaurants across the region.
