Hotel Garni Rivabella Au Lac

Brissago itself was quiet and peaceful, with a pleasant waterfront, and Hotel Rivabella was the best place we stayed during our vacation by far. The gardens were lovely, the staff were so friendly and helpful, and breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Our clean, comfortable room had a beautiful lake view. I highly recommend it!

The air conditioning made such a difference, and the gorgeous lake view was a treat. I stayed for 10 nights in August and loved it. Everyone was very friendly and accommodating, the location was great, breakfast was delicious, and the service was wonderful. Many thanks to the owner and staff!

We’ve stayed in places from budget hotels to five-star properties over many years of travel, and this one is now our favorite. We arrived at 11:00 PM, but the staff stayed up and gave us a warm welcome. The mattress and pillows were soft and comfortable, the windows kept out noise well, everything was spotless and clearly well maintained, and slippers were provided. In the morning there was a beautiful view from the window, birdsong, and a delicious breakfast on the veranda overlooking the lake. It included fresh pastries, cold cuts and cheese, eggs, fresh orange juice, Birchermüesli, and several coffees. The whole staff were professional and friendly. You can tell this family-run place puts thought into every detail. It has direct beach access, plenty of loungers and umbrellas, a SUP board, a lovely maintained flower garden, and private parking. Several restaurants are within walking distance; we tried three and liked them all. There’s also a mini-market open until 10:00 PM, just a five-minute walk away. We couldn’t think of anything that needed improvement. A little paradise on Lake Maggiore, and a perfect getaway.
