Weisses Rössli Swiss Quality Hotel

The meat was fine, and it was the only part of the meal we ate. The sauce alongside it barely tasted of mushrooms and was essentially bland. The rest was a bitter disappointment. The spaetzli were just boiled, with no butter or salt. The rotkohl was cold on one side and warm on the other, as if it had been hastily heated in a pan and put on the plate. It had no seasoning, flavor or care. The maronni were white and hard, and seemed barely warmed, without sauce, caramel or seasoning. We’d been excited to come to the restaurant again, as we do every year to kick off Wild season, and ordered Rehschnitzel as we have for a long time. This ends our tradition of dining here for Wildseason.

The rooms were decent, with good beds, and cleaning was good. Staff were very nice and forward-looking, and communicated well in English. The location is central, with parking available in the hotel’s backyard. The restaurant serves several traditional dishes in generous portions, and breakfast is in a pleasant room with a decent selection.

Breakfast was very good, with a solid choice of quality sweet and savory items. The restaurant was top quality too. Across Brunnen, Luzern, Bern, Zug, Interlaken, Grindelwald and Zurich, it was probably the best meal I had in Switzerland. The Swiss, German and Austrian dishes were fantastic, carefully prepared and perfectly seasoned. The hotel itself was clean, quiet and safe, in the best possible location. Staff were kind and attentive, and I had the pleasure of meeting the owner, who was utterly charming.

Our event went perfectly, and our guests were very enthusiastic. We had 98 people, and the three rooms on the 1st floor connect to make one large room, decorated with Swiss maps and landscape. Service was excellent, allergies were taken into account, and the staff were very friendly. We never had to wait, and the food was excellent. We were even surprised to find printed menus on our table. We had a fantastic time and were ahead on the day’s planning. Highly recommended for special events!
