Bad Bubendorf Hotel

We picked the hotel on a whim for one night and were pleasantly surprised. The rooms were very comfortable, and the service was excellent. We’d happily recommend it.

The bus stop is right outside, and there’s a large supermarket a few blocks away. We rode the bus to Liestal, a charming little town, then took the train to Basel almost every day. Getting to the city was quick, and we could return to our quiet hideaway in Bubendorf. It’s about an hour from the airport, so leave enough time for the trip. Our suite and its private terrace were perfect. The room was stylish, clean, and peaceful, with a very comfortable bed, a great shower, and all the amenities we needed. The restaurants were incredible, and the staff were so friendly and helpful. It’s a beautiful, almost magical place to relax and unwind. We felt pampered and well looked after, whether you’re there on vacation or for business. It might not be the obvious place to stay if you haven’t visited this part of Switzerland before, but being a little out of the way was well worth it.

The hotel itself was fine, but our night was terrible. It was 34deg in the room, with no AC or ventilation, and it felt suffocating. Opening the window facing the street meant putting up with noise all night.

The room was the weak point: the coffee machine was partly broken, the bathroom and shower didn’t work very well, and we could hear neighbors and hallway activity through the walls. The location and services were much better, with a friendly reception, a fitness area, and a great restaurant and bar. I’d give the service and location 5 stars, but the room only 3, so the experience comes to 4 stars overall.
