Hotel Buchserhof

The breakfast staff were wonderful and helpful, and the staff were kind. There are plenty of places to eat and drink within walking distance, and the location is nice. The room was spacious, but the bed was extremely uncomfortable. The fridge barely got cold, and there was no way to adjust it.

The location is a real plus, just a few minutes on foot from a large train station. Service was fine, nothing special, but they kept our bags and were neither rude nor unfriendly. The hotel was adequate once we knew what to expect, though it wasn’t our favorite. Our room was tiny, had no air conditioning, and barely circulated air. It was about 27°C inside even though it was around 18°C outside, which was really uncomfortable. There was no fan in the room or bathroom. The small one we got from the front desk hardly helped, so we left the windows wide open all night. Traffic from cars and buses was loud. Laundry cost 8 CHF, and the machines were extremely hard to get working. The washer left our clothes soaking wet, so we had to run the dryer several times and they were still damp. We stayed up an hour or two later than planned trying to dry everything, then gave up and hung the clothes. They were barely dry by morning.

Right by the station in downtown Buchs, the hotel has clean, functional rooms and a comfortable bed. Breakfast is continental, and the restaurant is excellent.

The staff were friendly and helpful, especially room service, and the location is good. But the furniture feels old and not well maintained. The single rooms don’t offer much space and don’t have fridges. Breakfast was limited, with little variety, and it felt a bit expensive for what you get. Still, it was an okay stay overall.
