Chalet Speciale - Hostel

The breakfast was the same each morning, but quite good, and the staff were friendly and eager to help, even though not everyone spoke English or German. I was there in January for skiing, and found the shared bathrooms clean. They didn't feel too congested, and I could usually time things so I wasn't waiting outside. Even if there was a short wait, you could hear from your room when someone had finished. The location was great: under five minutes from the train station on flat ground, unlike St.Moritz, and five minutes from the ski lifts and a bus stop. The buses were more frequent and useful than the trains. St.Moritz Dorf was about a 40-minute walk, with a bit of up and down. It's affordable and well located for the area, though the old wooden house carries sound. You can hear guests walking and talking in their rooms, so it depends whether your neighbors keep hours like yours. At least the floorboards don't squeak, and the noise wasn't too bad.

We stayed for two nights. The bathroom setup could be better, but everything else was excellent: it was very clean, the staff were friendly, the breakfast was delicious, and the prices were reasonable. I can confidently recommend it.

For Switzerland, the value was okay. Breakfast was decent, and the location was great for cycling along the Inn River. The room was the smallest I've ever seen and had a very unusual shower. The toilet was shared, which might have been difficult if the place had been busier.

The room was cozy, but the blanket was dirty. There was a shower and toilet but no washbasin, and the balcony still had a mess left by the previous person. The host didn't answer my messages.
