Auberge du Raisin

A real gem, and the owner made us feel so welcome. We had the perch from Lac Leman, which was incredible, and chicken smoked right in front of us around the fire, with tasty gratin and plenty of other vegetables. A superb restaurant for a special meal.

Thanks for such an elegant afternoon coffee. The place has a lovely vintage feel, with coffee served in a really stylish way. I’m already planning to come back soon for a gourmet dinner, starting with oysters and champagne.

The receptionist was the one letdown. We’d booked two rooms with double beds and had a problem with the room arrangement. She couldn’t fix it and didn’t explain the situation politely, or show much empathy for our complaint. The hotel itself has a lovely atmosphere. We especially liked the distinctive interiors in the corridors, stairways and restaurant, which feel like they were put together with real care and taste. The rooms were very nice and clean, and the location is excellent.

We had a large attic room with a character of its own, which I really liked. It was a good place to spend the night, right by the lake. We came in the off season, when the hotel wasn’t serving food, so we ate at the nice cafe next door. There wasn’t much to do, and quite a few things were closed.
