Hotel Bänklialp

We stayed at the Bänklialp Hotel from 5-8 March 2026 for a ski holiday and would happily return. The team made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived, with friendly, attentive service and brilliant help throughout. The hotel was spotless, with clean, modern interiors that felt comfortable and well cared for. Everything was presented to a very high standard. I’d highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

Breakfast had a good selection and was more than enough, and dinner was solid and satisfying after a day in the mountains. The Bänklialp Hotel is a practical option for skiing, thanks to its location at the foot of the Titlis Bergbahn. There’s a free shuttle bus, while parking costs an extra CHF 10. It’s a little outside central Engelberg, though you can walk if you want to. Check-in took a long time at reception, which was frustrating given that the hotel wasn’t full. My room also felt dated and really needs a thorough refurbishment. The food and location worked well, but service efficiency and room quality could be better.

The balcony had an amazing view, and it became the setting for the most spiritual experience of our lives. It’s also a great place for psychonauts who want to trip in peace, and smoking is allowed on the balcony. We found this to be the cheapest accommodation in Engelberg, but the service, location, and views exceeded our expectations. The staff are sweet and helpful, and the room was clean and comfortable. It’s only a ten-minute walk from the station, along a beautiful route. Staying here also gets you a 10% discount at Titlis mountain gondola. Get a mountain-view room! The restaurant food was delicious, if a bit pricey. Breakfast is free each day and has lots of options.

The staff were extremely helpful, and the shuttle was quick and free. The hotel sits at a quiet elevation near the family-friendly Brunni ski resort. Breakfast was complete, with astonishing views of Engelberg from the restaurants and breakfast room.
