The area is beautiful and the renovated mayen is cute, with a very peaceful, quiet feel. But I found the price hard to justify: CHF 170 a night once the CHF 80 cleaning fee for two nights is included, for a room with a sofa bed. The terrace chairs aren't comfortable, and although the shared pantry is fairly well stocked, the coffee is poor and the soaps are all Coop Prix Garantie. Using the wood-fired hot tub costs another CHF 70. There are no blinds to keep out the morning light, check-in isn't until 4pm, and checkout is at 10am. It was a novel experience and a nice place to visit, but too many little things detracted from it. I wouldn't book again.

There are great hikes close by, and renting the hot pot is a must. You make the fire and keep it going yourself. The little chalet has been refurbished, feels very cosy, and comes with all the modern amenities you could want. A lovely, idyllic spot in the Alps.

We came back two years in a row, in 2017 and 2018, and it's AMAZING! The ground-level window where you can watch the stars at night is incredible. The neighbors are lovely, and when we told Oliver that the hay and tarp were blowing away, the farmer kindly brought us a bottle of wine.

The loaner electric car made getting around easy and fun. Such a gorgeous view and a lovely town, all just 2h from Geneve. We had a fabulous stay.
