The mattress and pillow were comfortable, and I slept well. The room was clean too. I gave two stars out of respect for the older generation of the family who ran the business. The current owner was very unpleasant, and even charged us 7 CHF more than the reservation price. Inside, it felt like a second-hand shop, with lots of pictures and statues that weren't to my taste. The room smelled of old furniture and dust. It was cold, and the outdated bathroom didn't match the reservation photos. Breakfast was okay, but very basic. The small coffee machine seemed far too small for such a big old hotel. It could be improved so guests don't have to wait for cappuccino or ask for water and milk to be refilled. The location is convenient for travellers, but the price felt high for a building that hasn't been renovated and isn't very convenient. The owners behaved badly and don't speak English. Never again. The room was very clean, and there was enough parking, though no EV charging. Beds were comfy, and the restaurant was good value. This is a friendly, family-run hotel and restaurant. Breakfast in the morning came with freshly brewed coffee and fresh daily products.

We weren't staying here, just hoping to get dinner, and arrived around 9 pm when the other restaurants were already closed. The host welcomed us with such warmth and hospitality. We really appreciated it.

We had a good shower and slept well, ready to continue our ride to Rome. The rooms were fine and very clean. Parking is free right in front, and the hotel is a few minutes past the Gottart, which made it a great place to rest for a night before continuing our journey. The family running it was very kind. We enjoyed dinner, though we found it a little expensive. Maybe that's normal in Switzerland.
