Hotel De La Rose

Getting luggage, kids, and everyone into the hotel was stressful: there’s nowhere to load or unload, and no parking. Staff pushed an expensive all-day option even though hourly parking was available, and seemed short on basic practical information. The entrance also wasn’t wheelchair-friendly. The door was difficult for an older person to manage, and nobody was there to help or hold it. A really bad experience. The beds were awful too. There wasn’t a double bed, just two singles pushed together that shifted around all night, which ruined the stay for a couple or family. We asked several times for clean towels, but nobody brought any. The key stopped working without warning, and getting a replacement meant calling an emergency number and waiting at least 30 minutes. The place felt especially unsuitable for families. It faces a busy road, and the staff were unfriendly. I could put up with the constant traffic noise, but apparently some noise from children was too much, even though we checked in late. There’s also a church opposite, with prayers or bells starting at 4 am and disturbing deep sleep, so the day began with everyone tired. This doesn’t feel like a four-star hotel. I’d say it’s worse than one star.

The location and price worked really well for me, and I had a large room with a great breakfast. I liked it enough to add two more nights to my stay.

The bathroom was in even worse shape, with mold in the shower, broken tiles, and barely any hot water for most of my stay. The room was a letdown too: the sheets had visible stains, furniture was dusty, and there was a musty smell throughout.

The breakfast was good, but the service was poor, and I can’t recommend this place. For a hotel calling itself four-star, it’s ridiculous. Traffic and church bells kept things noisy all night in this central location. The rooms were overheated, and getting clean towels was impossible.
