There are rooms for private events, and you can pay by cash or card. The staff were very friendly, and the menu has a variety of traditional Swiss dishes. A few were too salty for me, though.

The municipal outdoor pool just up the road is a gem, and trains to St Gallen are handy. It’s a very family-friendly hotel, full of Swiss character, with wonderful food.

It’s in the oldest building on the main square (!), and the place is lovely and clean. The staff were the kindest and most helpful I’ve ever met.
