Huus Quell by Appenzeller Huus

The art tour was a moving surprise. We happened to be there for the Heart Beats exhibition, and several of the artists joined the guided tour to talk about their work. Their personal stories were emotional and inspiring. We also tried the Quell Restaurant’s tavolata for the first time. It was communal and relaxed, and everything felt thoughtfully done. At the new Botanicum Bar, the cocktails were extravagant, made with seasonal and regional ingredients, and really creative. Conversations with Raphael and Elmir made the afternoons and evenings even better. The spa and wellness area is enormous, over 2,200 square meters, with cold plunges, steam grottos, a rooftop pool, and an outdoor sensory pool that was a personal highlight. Natascha showed us the L3 Circle experience, including the infrared cabin, the -110°C cold chamber, and contactless lymphatic drainage. The whole journey felt deeply revitalizing, and the biohacking and longevity concept makes it unusual in Switzerland. Our cozy room looked toward the church tower and smelled strongly of natural wood as soon as we walked in, something I love. We were warmly welcomed by host Jan, who gave us a short tour and shared interesting thoughts about the house and its philosophy. Anastasia, the interior designer, later walked us through the hotel and told us about the architecture, materials, and construction. Hearing that moon wood was used at reception made the design story even more special. It’s a hotel shaped by thoughtful design and the people you meet there. We had a wonderful stay from beginning to end, and will definitely come back.

We’ve tried lots of detox places, but this one is easily the most ecological. The service was excellent and every detail seemed to get attention, pure Swiss perfection. The spa and restaurant are the best in the area. 👏

A very cozy, quite new hotel about 10 minutes from Appenzell. The spa is great, the food fantastic, and it’s a perfect spot for outdoor activities or a weekend retreat.

The food was delicious, and the service was friendly and attentive. We felt very welcome throughout our stay at Appenzeller Huus Quelle. The room was clean and cozy, with an extremely comfortable bed that helped us sleep wonderfully. The spa was a real highlight, with different saunas and several relaxation rooms, so it was easy to find a quiet spot to unwind. We especially loved sitting in the warm outdoor pools while it snowed. Such a magical, special experience. We’d definitely return and highly recommend it.
