Marianne and Lorenz were warm, polite hosts who really looked after our comfort. They helped us plan activities for both good and bad weather, and gave us advice on driving in the snow. They also offered fresh milk from their farm. If I return, or a friend asks me where to stay, this would definitely be my first and only choice.

Marienne and her family made the stay special. She kept checking that we were comfortable, brought fresh milk from their farm, and even drove us to the station a couple of times when we were in a rush. Their hospitality was the best I've experienced in Europe, and I'd definitely come back. The chalet itself won us over as soon as we saw it. It felt like the Switzerland I'd pictured since childhood, and we loved staying there. It's peaceful and scenic, about 2 km from the center. Buses stop nearby, but run only about once an hour and stop at 7 pm. Grindelwald Terminal station is walkable with a short 10-minute hike, and Grindelwald Grund station, with trains to Kleiene Scheidegg, is also within walking distance. There's plenty of parking if you're driving. In winter, it's better to take the bus route instead of Google's shorter suggested route. Inside, we found everything we needed, and the fireplace made the winter stay especially cozy. There aren't shops nearby, so groceries need a little planning, but that was hardly an inconvenience.

The transport links were really convenient, with a bus stop a minute away and the station a three-minute walk downhill. The chalet was cozy but had modern equipment, and it was such a great way to experience the Grindelwal-lifestyle. Marianne was incredibly gracious and always ready to help or offer guidance. We were very happy here and would definitely stay again!

The views were spectacular, and the hosts made us feel so welcome and helped with everything. When we arrived a few years ago in winter, they showed us around our chalet, which was the ground floor of a beautiful farmhouse. The hostess also gave us a milk jug and said to leave it on the outside windowsill if we'd like fresh milk from their cows in the morning. The place was warm, and I've never had milk like that. Don't miss it!
