Eiger View Bed & Kitchen

Juri was especially kind and went out of his way to help us feel welcome. The rest of the staff were lovely too, and the setting is beautiful. Our room was clean and looked after, though a little cramped, and the bed wasn’t quite comfortable for us. Still, we had a pleasant stay at Eiger Hotel in Grindelwald.

The balcony area had lovely scenery, and the bed was comfortable. There were nice views all around the lodge, and breakfast had a pretty good spread. We had a wonderful stay.

I’d recommend the lodge, but plan to eat elsewhere or bring your own food, since I found the buffet breakfast a bit underwhelming and heavy on supermarket products. My room was clean, renovated, comfortable enough, and everything worked. I was lucky to get one of the best rooms at the end of April, with an incredible view straight from the balcony to the Eiger and a quiet setting. The reception guys were kind. If you’re in shape, it’s about a 15 minute walk from Grindelwald station with a light carry-on and backpack, though some parts of the slope are quite steep, so take it easy.

Getting here takes some effort, as the reviews say, but bus 122 from the bus stop to Gaggi säge leaves you right there. The last bus from the station is at 18:04, and the bus can get you around town. Taxis only run until midnight, so if you’re stranded after that, it’s a long walk uphill. The lodge itself was breathtaking, with quiet, modern, clean, comfortable rooms and easy check-in. The views are the best. We’ll definitely come back. Thank you!
