Hotel Alpenblick

As a ski instructor in Grindelwald kleine Scheidegg, I know the area well and have been coming here since I was three. Alpenblick gave me a great stay and, to me, the best value for money around. It was clean, the people were nice, and breakfast was included. You can also buy dinner at the restaurant, prepared by a really good chef, and the price is great. I couldn’t find anything bad to say. I’d recommend it whether you’re travelling alone, as a couple, or with family. Best of luck, Adriaan

The staff were so hospitable and made me feel at home. The view really is spectacular, and the price was good. There’s quick bus access to the main ski lifts and the town centre is within a reasonable walk. I had a four bed dorm to myself, which felt quite cosy. Sharing it might have been cramped, with just two power sockets plus USB-C and USB-A ports, one light, and no storage inside the room. The continental breakfast buffet was well stocked and appetising. There was also a microwave and kettle for limited cooking.

On Christmas Eve, the friendly staff even gave us gifts, which was very sweet. The bus stop is right outside, and I woke up to amazing views. I booked a dormitory room and found it nicer and better value than most of the many dorms I’ve stayed in across Switzerland. The walls are thin and not well insulated, though luckily the hotel wasn’t busy that night. I wouldn’t expect soundproof rooms in a dorm anyway. Breakfast was the usual Swiss hotel buffet, and the staff gave me useful advice on places to visit based on that day’s weather. I had a nice stay.

Alpenblick was amazing value for its location, and included breakfast, which can be hard to find in CH. The views were otherworldly, and the staff were so friendly. One of our favourite stays in Switzerland.
