Romantik Hotel Schweizerhof

We had a travel problem during our stay, and the hotel was quick to help us find a solution. I hope I can visit again, we loved it here. In January, the snowy setting made everything around the hotel pretty and cozy. The staff were smiling, friendly, and professional. The bar and restaurant were really good, with great food and drinks, and the rooms had a cozy alpine style.

We spent two weeks at Hotel Schweizerhof in early September to celebrate my retirement and revisit a part of Switzerland we hadn't seen in over 30 years. The stay was everything we hoped for and more. Being near the main station made it an ideal base for exploring the area. We chose a south-facing room with a balcony toward the Eiger and the Mannlichen, and the room was perfect. Our half-board booking included a large buffet breakfast and superb dinners, with friendly, helpful staff throughout. We could also get packed lunches and afternoon tea when we needed them. The staff took such good care of us, and we had lovely chats, enjoyed their wine and beer recommendations, and had a superb cheese fondue. The Chambermaids kept everything neat, even folding and laying out our nightwear for our return. We also spent several afternoons relaxing in the garden under a parasol with coffee. We'd definitely return, perhaps in winter for the skiing season. Thanks for a wonderful two weeks.

The hotel has gorgeous views and a fantastic location, central but still away from the crowds. I'm smitten with the decor, a mix of Landhaus and Alpine Chic. Breakfast was great, and the staff are friendly and helpful. So far, I'm very happy with my stay.

We’d booked two rooms together, then canceled, but somehow only one room was removed. The hotel wasn’t full, yet they still wanted to charge us the entire three-night cost. I went to the desk to explain in person and expected some flexibility since it was clearly a reservation mistake and one room had been canceled. The way they handled it was very poor customer service.
