The restaurant feels like part of the local community, often busy with village club members, and sometimes local folk singers if you’re lucky. Their raclette cooked at the fire is well known, though the other dishes are tasty too. We especially enjoyed the entrecote steak and lambs lettuce salad with lardons. The daily lunch special is a good deal and tastes homemade. We stayed with two children in the family suite. The rooms were immaculate, the staff kind and friendly, and the hotel and restaurant were very well managed. The decor has a sweet, authentic feel, with lace curtains and red gingham checks in the dining areas, chalet style bedrooms, and teddy bears as mascots. It’s a real asset to Gsteig’s stunning natural setting, with a spirit and soul that feels unique these days. We’ll be back this summer and winter. Bravo to the hotel and all its staff!

Dinner and breakfast were both very good, and the service was warm and efficient. There’s also a pleasant guest living room with free tea and coffee, plus games and books. The hotel sits in the centre of the historic village. The rooms have a traditional look, with gingham bedspreads and pine walls, but the bathroom is modern and everything was clean. The beds were very comfortable. Even though we were right by the village road, the room stayed quiet, and the river outside our window lulled us to sleep.

Not worth the price, but there aren’t many other options, so there’s not much to complain about. It’s a lovely little village to stop in while hiking through the area. We arrived tired and left early. It was off-season and not very busy. Breakfast was basic but satisfying.

We stayed two nights in this lovely hotel, set in a beautiful valley. The staff were very kind and the service was outstanding. We had dinner there as well, and the food was delicious. One thing I’d suggest is improving the breakfast product selection. We’ll be back soon.

I was there overnight for business. It’s a fantastic little hotel, very clean, and even the single room is spacious. The welcome was really friendly, and the whole place has a great atmosphere for a very fair price. Happy to return!
