Hotel Kurhaus Heiligkreuz

The food was disappointing and, for the price, I don't think this restaurant offers fair value. The sausages seemed warmed up rather than freshly made, and the kitchen didn't offer any sauce. The sour cream mashed potatoes were crushed potatoes with their skins still on, nowhere near mash. I had to get up again to ask for ketchup to make the dry meal more enjoyable. We've eaten at many restaurants in Switzerland, and based on this family experience, I can't recommend this one. We may have caught them on a very bad day. We came for Saturday lunch with our two children, aged 3 and 5, before a planned children's hike called Wurzilla. At 11:30 a.m. we picked a table, and the waitress came over in a reasonable time with a very limited menu: four mains, three salads, and a soup. Nobody took our drink order or offered child seats or a children's menu. After waiting half an hour, I went to the cashier myself to order our meal and a bottle of water. Only then did I learn that one of my choices, the meatballs, was no longer available. After I suggested an alternative, I ordered the menu with two sausages. The food finally arrived more than 30 minutes later. I usually speak with the host before writing a negative review, but that didn't happen here. I had to get up from the table several times to ask the staff about our order and even to pay, and nobody checked how things had gone at the end.

The peaceful, beautiful surroundings make the place inviting. Inside, the atmosphere is warm, the staff are friendly, and the food was excellent. A hotel worth visiting!

A lovely getaway at a fair price, with beautiful views and great food. The owner is extremely nice, and the waitress gave excellent service.
