The view from our room is one we’ll be talking about for a long time, and we’d definitely come back. We only had a few days but managed to see so much of Switzerland. Getting to the hotel from the train station was easy, with a short, very scenic bus ride. The staff were helpful from beginning to end, and everyone helped us when we were still figuring out the trains. They were also fluent in English, which made things much easier, and the WiFi stayed strong the whole time. It’s an older building, so we could hear the upstairs neighbors arrive around midnight. I’m a light sleeper, but I brought earplugs and did fine. I’d highly recommend Bären hotel.

We live at the hotel and have eaten at this restaurant twice. The first waiter was respectful and treated us well, but on our second visit the waitress raised her voice when I couldn’t understand her. I asked her to explain again because of the language barrier. Was it really necessary to raise her voice? We’ve been to many restaurants where people are patient and explain things kindly, but that wasn’t our experience here. The food was average and not worth the high prices, and the service was poor. We won’t be coming back.

The service was very friendly, and the prices seemed fair. I tried the Insalate Bären, I think that was the name, and it was the best salad I’ve ever had: a lovely mix of lettuce, sprouts and vegetables, seeds sprinkled just right, and a great house-made dressing. The pizza was excellent too, with a chewy, crisp crust, good sauce, and nice cheese. No complaints at all. Great restaurant!

We turned up on a Sunday with 13 people and no reservation, and they welcomed us so warmly. The service and restaurant were really good, and the views were lovely. It’s been one of our best pizza restaurant experiences in Switzerland so far. We’d absolutely recommend it and will be back!

The terrace was spectacular, and they set up a wonderful table for our group of 12 friends even though we arrived without a reservation. The pizza and pasta were a perfect 10/10, with high-quality ingredients and everything cooked just right. The service was excellent too. Highly recommend! La banda
