Hotel Twing

We barely slept, since the walls were paper-thin. We could hear people talking in the hallway, doors slamming at all hours, and someone snoring in the next room. The hotel’s included breakfast was basically toast, instant coffee, and a few sad-looking apples, so we went elsewhere to eat every morning. The supposed amenities were laughable: the gym was tiny and windowless, with a broken treadmill and outdated weights, and the pool was closed “for maintenance.” I later saw the same issue mentioned in other reviews, so it seems to have been “under maintenance” for a long time. The bathroom was awful, with mold in the shower corners and weak water pressure. The towels were thin, grayish, and smelled like chlorine. The toilet randomly ran every few minutes, and brownish marks in the tile grout made me question the cleaning standards. They advertised complimentary toiletries, but all we got was an almost empty shampoo bottle and a bar of soap that looked reused. The room had a strong musty smell as soon as we opened the door. The carpet was stained, the furniture looked as if it hadn’t been cleaned or replaced in years, and the window seemed either jammed shut or permanently sealed when we tried to air the room out. The air conditioning barely worked and clunked loudly every ten minutes, making sleep impossible. The bedding was questionable, too: one pillowcase had what looked like a makeup stain, there were small hairs on the supposedly clean sheets, and the uneven, lumpy mattress felt like a worn-out trampoline. We asked housekeeping to change the sheets the next morning, but they never came. The front desk promised someone would come “shortly” when we asked again later, but nobody showed. The staff barely acknowledged us at check-in. There was no greeting or smile, just a rushed process that made us feel as though we were inconveniencing them. Service was practically nonexistent, and whenever we asked for help, staff acted annoyed or ignored us. We booked based on the photos and decent location, but the pictures seemed incredibly outdated or intentionally misleading. We would have left for somewhere else if we hadn’t prepaid. For the price, the poor upkeep and unprofessional service were shocking. This stay was a waste of time, money, and patience.

I stayed here with a group of students in summer, and we’ll definitely come back. The owners were kind and very helpful, the food was delicious, and the rooms were spotless. The location is unbeatable, with beautiful views over the Alps and a swimming pound.

The lake was wonderfully refreshing for a swim, and the views and location were amazing. The people welcomed my group so warmly, and dinner was absolutely delicious. The beds were super comfortable. We loved this place and would definitely recommend it to anyone.

The owners were very nice and attentive, and the location makes the hotel special. Our room was very clean and the bed was so comfortable. I had an amazing experience and will most definitely be back!
