Seehotel Sternen

The location and views are stunning, and the staff, especially at reception and the woman serving breakfast, were genuinely kind and welcoming. We stayed three nights at Seehotel Sternen, but several things fell short of what I’ve experienced at other 4-star hotels. Our room was cold and the air conditioning didn’t work properly. When we asked someone to check it, they first said, “The temperature is fine, it’s 20°C,” which didn’t help, especially since my partner wasn’t feeling well. There wasn’t a heater, though they did bring an extra blanket. The pillows were very uncomfortable, and as a couple we were given two single beds pushed together without a proper top cover, which made sleeping uncomfortable. We hadn’t realized Swiss power sockets were different. When we asked to borrow an adapter, we were told they don’t lend them and only sell them for 5-10 CHF. Breakfast was basic and below what I expected from a 4-star hotel. The bathroom hand soap was never refilled during our three days, and by the last day it was almost unusable. The friendly staff and setting were great, but the hotel has clear improvements to make to meet 4-star standards.
