Sust lodge

A good choice for cyclists tackling the local passes. The rooms are basic, but clean and comfy, and there’s easy bike storage and hearty food. Michi was super helpful arranging luggage pickup and drop-off at our next hotel, Pearl Shuttle in Andermatt. Merci vielmals !

The admin was nice, the room was clean, and both the food and breakfast were acceptable. Still, it felt expensive for what you get, though nothing is cheap in Switzerland. As a tourist just passing through, I’ll look for somewhere else next time.

I like the rustic rooms and outdoor activity vibe here, and the meals at dinner and breakfast were good. The staff were the best part for me. It’s an affordable place with a great atmosphere, and this was my second stay, in March 2025, in the cosy village of Hospental.

The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made my stay at Sust Lodge a real pleasure. My room was small and basic, but fine for what I needed, and I liked being able to adjust the heat myself. There’s a gear room on the first floor, and the bus stop for the mountain is around the corner, less than a 2-minute walk away. The bus runs every 30 minutes from 8 am to 5 pm, which is handy for the slopes. The restaurant was a nice extra, and the menu seemed to change weekly. Breakfast was included, though it was the same each day, and room service came daily. My only small complaint was that the shower gel and shampoo weren’t refilled every day. I got just two for the whole week. When I asked for a wall outlet adapter, the manager kindly lent me one and let me keep it for my entire stay. I enjoyed staying at Sust Lodge and would recommend it to anyone looking for a friendly, accommodating hotel in the Hospental/Andermatt area. The staff’s effort made the trip memorable, and I appreciated it.
