I spent three nights here at the end of June 2025, in a single room with shared restrooms. The room was spotless and very quiet, and the half board was well organized with good food. Prices were good too, so it's a good option when staying in Ilanz. Just keep in mind it's about a 10-15 minute uphill walk from the train station to the monastery.

The building was nice and tidy, as you'd expect in a place where nuns stay. We had clean linens, a comfortable bed and shower, our own bathroom, a ski room, and a dining hall, though we didn't explore beyond those spaces. It's a great base for skiing at Obersaxen if you have a car, just a short drive away, and the value through hotelcard was great. German or Romansh are spoken here. The woman at reception spoke French and English and was very welcoming and polite. The nuns tried to talk with us at check-in and during meals, but our lack of local language made communication difficult.
