The Hey Hotel

This isn’t an ad. The staff were all so kind, and the place was clean and lovely. I stayed one night before heading to Grindelwald, and both the service and location were excellent. I had an early checkout for Jungfrau and thought I’d miss the breakfast I’d paid for. When I asked, they made me a takeaway breakfast in a paper bag: a handmade orange, an apple, chocolate, and water. My room was even upgraded to the top floor. Interlaken Ost is just a three-minute bus ride away, and there’s a nearby Coop that stays open late. I would’ve liked to stay longer if my schedule had allowed. Highly recommend for Korean travelers. Dear hey hotel guest house team, I kept my promise! Hope to see you again!

The room cleaning was a bright spot. They did a really good job every day and even arranged the pillows, which was a nice touch. Reception staff were friendly, too. The hotel is two stars at best, more suited to a backpacking trip. Rooms felt very dated, and the bathrooms were tiny with only basic toiletries. There’s no closet or drawers, so unpacking isn’t practical. Breakfast was okay, but there was practically no service. The woman checking guests in seemed unfriendly and annoyed. Nescafe was the best part of breakfast.

The rooms are great, but there’s no A/C. A small floor fan gives a little air circulation, though it was uncomfortable in late May 2026. Glad I’m not here in the middle of summer. One big plus, there’s a laundry for washing clothes about 30 seconds away.

After a long day, it was easy to relax in a comfortable, clean, well-kept room. Breakfast was excellent, with a nice range of options. The staff were welcoming and professional, and ready to help whenever I needed something. I had a fantastic stay and would happily return. Highly recommend for a visit to Interlaken.
