Chalet Sapin Argenté

We’ve chosen La Tzoumaz for our winter ski holiday for five years in a row. This time we stayed from 21st to 28th of February and paid a premium for this chalet because it was advertised as ski-in/ski-out, unlike other chalets we’d rented in the previous four seasons. It turned out to be a complete failure. The funicular, which gives access to the slopes as well as an easier route to the parking and road, was out of service several times during our stay. We had to move our ski gear to and from lockers nearer the Telecabine twice, then leave it there for the rest of the trip. The value for money was tiny: ski-in/ski-out wasn’t really an option, and reaching the main road was much harder along icy paths and a dirty, icy road. Unless they fix the funicular for good, booking any of these chalets makes no sense. The travel agency gave us a refund, but it was tiny compared with what we paid and the overall ruined experience. One more thing about the other four five-star reviews here: it seems strange that there are only four reviews after so many years of rentals. Ann Kirkman owns 4v4s, which manages this property, so her review shouldn’t be taken into consideration as she is certainly biased.
