TOP Hotel Sarain Active Mountain Resort

The garage looks like something from Monaco! I spent nine nights in a balcony studio managed by hotel Sarain (Val Saraina) while hiking along the Bernina Express railway, and had a fantastic holiday. It was peaceful and comfortable, with an XL bed and a fully equipped kitchen that had more than I expected. The restaurant food was good, and reception staff were very kind. There’s a changing room, ski and snowboard storage, and a laundry room for winter. The place has full access for disabled people and fast internet. Nothing bad to mention.

The staff were excellent, and Venessa at reception was a pleasure to chat with, a real asset to the team. The woman who takes care of breakfast was just as friendly and natural. Management, look after these people, they’re gold! I stayed one night at Hotel Sarain.

It was great that pets were welcome without an extra charge. The wellness area looked good, with a sauna and hot tub available for free, though we didn’t try them because it closed at 8pm. We had an apartment in this peaceful lodge with comfortable beds, nice linens and good toiletries. Service was great too. The little kitchen could have used cutlery and plates, since it had nothing except four glass cups.

I only booked at the last minute because my work is nearby, and the place turned out to be a real surprise. The spa is excellent, the food incredible, and the wine list ridiculously good. I lost count of how many wines they offer by the glass. The room was cozy, with a good bed and quality linens. Everyone on staff was lovely and genuine.
