We had a delicious Sunday afternoon meal at this fine restaurant, with traditional food and the feel of an old country inn. We'd be glad to come back!

We booked at short notice and got a lovely, spacious double room, and our dog was welcome too. The restaurant meal was delicious, with tender meat grilled just right. Friendly service, plenty of laughs, and stories along the way. We highly recommend the Löwen and its staff. Thanks very much. Michael.

We've eaten at this restaurant several times, and some dishes have been good to very good. Breaded food, though, has been a letdown. The Cordon Bleu was mediocre to poor every time I've tried it, and today's Wiener Schnitzel was an absolute disaster. Apart from the veal, it had nothing to do with a Wiener Schnitzel. I'd rate it -20 on a scale of 1 to 10. You expect a thinly pounded piece of veal with light, fluffy, almost soufflé-like breading. Instead, there were three small schnitzels made almost entirely of breading soaked in grease, and they were oversalted. I sent the plate back. Then the owner came storming out of the kitchen, furious, and tried to tell me I was wrong based on her 40 years of experience. She verbally attacked me in a completely unprofessional way. I still had to pay the full price for the whole meal, even though I'd only eaten two bites of the smallest schnitzel. Her explanation was that I'd eaten the most, so I had to pay the full amount. As I was leaving, she verbally attacked and insulted me again. I would have been willing to compromise, but the owners seem completely unable to accept criticism or accommodate an unhappy customer. Doing so could have helped them get good reviews.
