Hôtel des Patients

The rooms are spacious, but they lack basics like a coffee maker, mini fridge, or fan. There's ventilation but no air conditioning, and although we booked two rooms, we were given just one fan. The rooms are part of the hospital complex and seem designed for patients, possibly to bring in extra hospital income. If you're visiting as a tourist, don't rely on the positive reviews, which seem to come from patients or business travelers. Unless you're there for medical treatment, I wouldn't recommend this hotel.

It's inside the hospital complex, right beside the CHUV Metro station. The rooms are huge, like big houses, with an amazing view overlooking Lake Laussane. The cleaning team was superb, there were lots of accessories in the room, and the restaurant was beautifully designed with a great view and a wide selection. Hospitality was great too, with polite, helpful, professional staff. We could see many newborn babies in the hotel.

We hadn't realized the hotel was connected to a hospital, so that came as a surprise. Still, it turned out to be such a lovely place. The staff were amazing, and the room was huge. And that view, wow.

Everything was great, from the facilities and service to the staff's explanation of the area and what to keep in mind when visiting Lausanne. Breakfast was 10/10, and our room had a great lake view. Parking cost 20 CHF, but the garage under the hotel felt safe and was easy to reach by elevator. The nice man at reception said we could leave our car there until the afternoon even after checkout. There are a few spaces outside the hospital, but you can only park there until 8 am. The hotel is close to the train station and other things. You can buy a socket adapter from a vending machine near reception, and the staff will help you.
