Drei Berge Hotel

The view from our balcony was stunning, and the rooms were beautiful. My partner and I stayed at the Drei Berge for two nights, but the management left us disappointed. The staff were very sweet, and I don’t blame them, though they didn’t seem to know much about hotel or restaurant service. At more than $400 a night, I expected more. It felt like the owners had put their passion into fixing up the hotel, then left young adults who needed training to run it on their own. I wouldn’t stay again, no matter how beautiful the view.

The location was superb, within walking distance of everything and right by mountain pastures. We fell asleep to cow bells each night, which other hotels closer to the train station and farther from the pastures don’t have. The service was fantastic, especially from Alex, Sonja and Antonio, who were kind and attentive. The whole place felt hip, calm and romantic, from the design and custom scent to the music, comfy beds and indulgent towels and linens. My husband enjoyed the great sauna after long hikes, and we appreciated the on-site laundry. On our way to the train, just a few minutes from the hotel, Antonio spotted us from his golf cart, turned around and insisted on driving us. Top-notch service and a genuine connection. Lovely stay.

Alex welcomed us on our first day and was incredibly kind and helpful. The lobby is cozy, more like a comfortable living room, and the views are spectacular. Our room was quiet and comfortable, with gorgeous linens and elegant touches. The bartender was amazing, and it felt like they went above and beyond instead of cutting corners. I’ve stayed in hundreds of hotels around the world, and this one gets things right at every turn. It felt like a home away from home, and I’m sad to leave today.

We spent about two hours here, with breathtaking views and nice English-speaking staff. We had cheese fondue with mushrooms, pickles, fired chicken, prosciutto, bread and tomatoes. We also ordered two beers, then finished with milk coffees.
