Alpenkräuter Hotel Bären

People in Wengen always seem pleased when they hear we stayed here, and say the owners are lovely and the inn is great. They also say it has the best food in town. We loved our three nights at Hotel Baren. The balcony view was beautiful, the bed was cozy, and the restaurant downstairs was tremendous. The staff were so friendly and helpful, and the inn has a genuine small place feel. My wife and I had a wonderful stay.

The restaurant was a real highlight. We ate breakfast and dinner there every day, and loved the local ingredients and Alpine herbs. The staff were kind and shared useful tips about hiking routes and transport. My best friend and I spent three nights there in October for hiking, and it was one of the best parts of our 10 day Switzerland trip. Our clean room had a hot water kettle, an espresso maker, and a large bathroom with a lovely hot shower. The Swiss chocolate bar and Ricolas were sweet little extras. We adored Wengen and this hotel. Thank you!

The room view was amazing, and the place is only a 7 to 8 minutes walk from the train station. We also appreciated the shared mini bar/fridge, and on checkout they offered to take our luggage to the train station, which helped a lot. It’s family friendly too, with a playground. The room was clean and tidy, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Our only con was that there were no cupboards or cabinets for storing clothes. Great location, and we highly recommend it.

The first-floor balcony had a breathtaking view, though the balconies aren’t private. Still, it’s a nice chance to chat with a neighbor and make a new friend. My two nights here were incredible: the room was large, clean, and very comfortable, and the staff were really friendly. Be sure to reserve dinner. Chef’s kiss.
