Residenza Lido

We had a wonderful stay and would come back, but next time we'll have breakfast in the city center right next door, where it costs half as much as the outdated buffet here. The buffet is meager for 25 CHF per person, far too expensive, so I'm taking off a star 🥲. The apartment hotel itself is in a fantastic, quiet spot with a lovely garden. Our fully equipped apartment had a great balcony overlooking the garden. Staff were friendly and attentive, and even tried to speak French or German since, like us, we struggle with Italian.

Getting here is easy, with bus line 4 running directly from the train station. The hotel is only minutes from the lakeside and a little farther from Locarno's center. Our room was actually a spacious, comfortable holiday apartment, with impeccable firm bedding that gave me no back pain. The grounds are lovely and well kept, and the location is very quiet. Everyone on staff was welcoming, attentive and friendly. Breakfast had plenty of variety and fresh produce. The heated pool and other services on site were nice extras. Thank you for the stay.

The residence is very clean and spacious, with a large, quiet park and a bus stop right outside. It's a straight 15-minute walk from Piazza Grande, close to the lakeside baths and just 100 meters from the lake. It accommodates seniors with reduced mobility and also has a few 50m² studios for tourists. There's a restaurant on site and a pool with set opening times. The furnishings are a little drab, though complete. Flood protection around the main building uses raised concrete blocks, an incredible system. Indoor parking is costly and limited, but nearby parking is easy to find.

Wir had a lovely, quiet stay and were very satisfied, all three adults and our 11-year-old child. The breakfast buffet had a wide selection. Everyone was friendly and attentive, from reception and the restaurant to the cleaner. We'd happily come back.
